3D Geological Modeling of Deep Coal Bearing Strata in Benxi Formation of Linxing Central Area
-
Abstract
With the rapid development of coalbed methane exploration and development in China, the development trend is gradually shifting from shallow part to deep part exploration. Compared to shallow coal seams, deep coal seams are higher in aspects of temperature, pressure, geostress and others. The fluid occurrence state, gas-bearing property, and physical properties of deep coal seams differ greatly and their changing laws are unclear, leading to an increase in the difficulty of predicting development indicators and making the influencing factors of gas well production capability unclear. In view of this problem, multi-aspect data of geological, well logging, seismic, gas content testing, isothermal adsorption experiments and others are used to study the relationship between the strata well logging curve characteristics and sedimentary microfacies, as well as the well logging calculation method of coalbed methane gas-bearing saturation. A 3D geological model of the research area is established, and the model verification indicates that the reserve error is 4.2%, which meets the accuracy requirements and provides support for exploring the main controlling factors of deep coalbed methane production under multi-coupled geological conditions in the future.
